FOOD TRIP: Light Breakfast at Merco

Early meeting schedule allows me to stumble upon different fast food chains and restaurants available within view. This time, instead of having my breakfast at the chain who offer streetwise bucket meals, I found myself dining at Merco for a light meal.

Merco Restaurant is Davao's home grown bakeshop famous for its delectable cakes and pastries at the most reasonable price. They've been on the business for the past 60+ years offering mouthwatering cakes, coolers, pastries and home-cooked pinoy dishes to fill in your hungry stomach.

I confess, this is my first time dining in at Merco. If not for a special friend who really want to order durian shake, we have gotten on KFC instead. lol... I ordered Egg sandwich for my light meal, French fries, chocolate shake and durian shake for my friend. All at a budget friendly price.

French fries - P58.00
Their egg sandwich is big enough to feed my not-so-hungry stomach. The bread taste great and the scrambled egg was big and bounty. But it lacks taste. some more salt and it will be perfect, well, at least for my taste. French fries is well flavored and is a thumbs up.

Durian shake = P69.00
Durian shake tastes like durian. lol. That stinky smell is there. I so love how they were able to blend it well. If you are familiar with Coco's durian shake, then expect same taste but at a more affordable price.

Chocolate shake
I also love their Chocolate shake. With a price of P40.00, I enjoyed the rich, sweet taste of chocolate syrup well blended with milk. The chocoholic in me couldn't be happier. ^_~

Other than what we ordered, Merco have lots of dishes available in their menu. From pastries, cakes, halo-halo, barbecues, pinoy foods and etc. Making them truly one of the promising cakeshop and restaurant in Davao city.

It was a fulfilling meal to start up my long day full of activities. Now I know why Merco lasted this long. I can see myself trying their other dishes soon. Visit them in one of their 35 stores in Metro Davao. ^_~
