Every December and June each year, Pens of Hope in Davao is always active in conducting an outreach program to the outskirts of Davao City that is seldom reached by both our national and local government. Its aim is to address the scarcity of writing materials in the far flung barangays of the Philippines. Pens of Hope in Davao has been passionately doing the program for 12 years now after the Idea was originally conceptualized by Nortehanon, A blogger from Northern Samar.
Tribung Mindanaw Club RMC Chapter organized a "Balik Eskwela Outreach Event" together with LUMOC, Black Tribe Trekkers and Happy Forest Kids volunteers. The outreach aims to provide the incoming students complete school supplies to boost their confidence in attending school.

I had a little sleep as the night before May 19, 2018, we are still printing additional T-shirts for our club members who will participate in the outreach program in Sitio Nangalid. And just before the dawn breaks, we're already on our way to Marilog District.
Lulu Mountaineering Club with TRIMMOC RMC, Black Tribe Trekkers and the Happy Forest Kids Davao volunteers organized a sports fest for the kids enrolled at Nangalid Elementary School in Sitio Nangalid, Datu Salumay, Marilog District.

Our supposed Holy Week trip to Arakan Valley, where we are supposed to give medical kits and used educational books has been cancelled. We are unable to pursue our mission to Arakan Valley for some safety issues raised days prior to our actual departure. Hence, we re-routed our planned hiking activity to a community in the hinterlands of Marilog District.
Sitio Nangalid of Barangay Datu Salumay was among the seldom-reached sitios in the hinterland of Davao city. There we conduct a feeding program for the community and to the kids. We also donated used educational books and school supplies for them to use this coming school year. I made a short video below:
