Dayang Beach Resort - Talicud Island

The perfect getaway to take some leisure from the tiring daily life routine is to reward your self a castaway to an island where all you have to do is to relax, set all other things aside, just enjoy life and appreciate the natural beauty of nature God has given us.

Spending my Christmas vacation close to nature at Dayang Beach Resort located in an isolated part of Talicud, Samal Island is the most fulfilling thing I ever did for myself before the year ends.

It took us one and a half hour to reach our destination from Sta. Ana wharf riding a motorboat/liner named Z-Enryh. We arrived late in the island because the liner we boarded were bound to deliver tons of cases of alcoholic drinks and sacks of rice at the karatig-Barangay of Babusanta. It takes almost an hour to discharge all of those cases and sacks. I am in no hope of enjoying my first day at the beach because as we continued sailing, the sun were already setting off. namaaaannn.

I fell in love with the place because the sense of privacy is there. The resort looks exclusive to the guests /wanderers who wants to have his/her own time alone. Perfect for those people who don't like crowded beaches. The beach is so inviting with its pristine and crystal clear waters. You can feel the breeze of fresh air coming from the ocean. You can only hear the clashing of the waves and the birds joyfully singing. True bliss of nature there is.

Dayang Beach Resort has fine white sands with a bit rocky shoreline and a clean surroundings. Kudos to the caretakers who sweeps the trashes and dried leaves at the vicinity every morning. You will not worry for security because the resort has an on-duty security guard 24 hours a day. Electricity at the resort is limited though only at 1pm until 2am.

We had a small chat of the owner, Ma'am Ellen and she said that she wants the visitors to be at home and take the resort as if their own. She wants to treat all guests as princesses (and prince of course), thus, the name "Dayang" means. She also stated that as much as possible, she wants to retain the natural beauty of the resort. Ma'am ellen is really enjoying the simple life at the beach with her husband.

Dayang Beach Resort offer cheap rates to all their guests. The close cottages ranges from 500Php to 800Php overnight (see price list at the end of the post). They take no charges on the foods and drinks you bring. They also offer breakfast at an affordable price. The locals are the friendliest. the owner and caretakers are very accommodating.

"I always say that the times in my life when I've been happiest are the times when I've seen, like, a sunset." - Chris Evans

Overall, my 2 days vacation away from the stress of the city is a great experience I treasured as a teen. And the happiness I felt while at the island isn't just an experience but a piece of my life worthy to be shared and remembered.

    2. Hi Jayvie, I am from Davao but have not been to Sunset Resort. If you rate the place from 1 being the least to 10 being superb, what would that be? Thank you, I value your opinion.

    3. Hello anon, I'm quite confused about your question since you asked about sunset yet you posted it here (dayang resort).

anyway if you're talking about sunset beach park, my rate would be 8 (overnight).. Dayang will be 6 (overnight)..

it actually depends on your taste. if you want a solemn place then dayang is for you. if you are a party peepz then i'll recommend sunset for you.. :)

      hope this helps.. ^_~

  7. Hi, I really like your post. Just want to ask some questions and hope you won't bother to answer. :)

First is, 1pm lng ba talaga yung available departure ng pumpboat? Wala bang morning departure? If wala sa morning, my second question is, until what time yung pumpboat dun sa isla? Are they gonna wait for the customers who doesn't wish to stay overnight on the beach?

    Thanks a lot!

    1. Hello Jumel,

first of, thanks for liking this post. I really appreciate it. about your questions,

motorboat will only be available at 12-1pm kasi isang beses lang sila sa isang araw mag layag. they might leave earlier if mapuno na yung ferry. but they will start accommodating passengers at around 12. kaya mas ok kung on time kayo mag punta. and no. they will not go back to Davao on the same day so hindi talaga pwede na hindi ka mag overnight sa isla. kelangan mo mag overnight tapos pagka morning at 7am susunduin ka nlang ng same ferry para ihatid ka pabalik sa davao. hope this helps. :) have fun.

  11. Hi. Thanks for the nice feature. Me and my husband are planning for another 2 day vacay on our wedding anniversary this July. We've been to Blue Waters last year and we had a great time because the place is not so crowded. We look forward to visiting Dayang this year. Upon reading all the comments here, all my questions are being answered. More power and God Bless.
