DAVAO CITY: A Visit at Davao Crocodile Park

May 29, 2013 , 4 Comments

In my desire to help boost Philippines tourism industry, especially Davao City, I planned of visiting the key tourist destinations in my hometown Davao City to share it to the world. And so to start, let’s first get into the wild at Davao Crocodile Park.

Davao Crocodile Park was considered as one of the key tourist destination in Davao City as it features various exotic animals such as monkeys, snakes, birds, bearcats, tigers, various type of reptiles with of course Crocodiles. It is where you can learn and enjoy the rich flora and fauna of Davao City.

Together with a friend, we visited Davao Crocodile Park and took some photographs to showcase the various animals you can see there. It took us approximately 20 minutes from downtown to arrive at Davao Crocodile Park located inside the Riverfront Corporate City along diversion road, Ma-a Davao City.

Davao Crocodile Park provides entertainment to the visitors like us who wants to be educated about the animal’s life into the wild and in captivity. It also serves as a field laboratory for students in biology, Zoology and animal science.

Let me show you some of the animals you can enjoy viewing at Davao Crocodile Park.

Black-capped Lory

Ostrich

Western Crowned Pigeon

Philippine Deer

Orangutan

Wild Boar

Rabbit

Sultan

Binturong

Peacock

Turtle

Iguana

Eagle

Shiva/Shieba

Siberian Tiger Sultan

Crocodile Park was considered as a mini-Zoo. There are a wide variety of animals from all over the world present at the Park aside from crocodiles. We were amazed by the whole row of animals we’ve never seen before. What we really enjoyed there was being up close with the Siberian tigers. There are four tigers in Davao Crocodile Park namely, Sultan 7years old, Pregnant Shieba/Shiva (whatever), Datu and Eve was the youngest at 1yr old going 2yrs old. We didn’t have the opportunity to see “Pangil” in action since we’re late. :(

A few meters away from Davao Crocodile Park lies an enchanting butterfly sanctuary where you can witness the transformation of the frequently ugly or bizarre caterpillar into an elegant butterfly. You can also see different types of butterflies up close inside the sanctuary.

So if you are planning to visit Davao City, be sure to add Davao Crocodile Park and Butterfly Sanctuary to your itinerary. I assure you that you'll enjoy your adventure into-the-wild without going farther from the city center. Enjoy your visit. ^_^
