DAVAO CITY: Bahay ni Tuding Inn and Resto

In a quiet alley off San Pedro Street lies a homey and tranquil place to stay that is perfect for travelers, visitors and even wandering souls who wants to know the rich culture, history and diversity of Davao City.

Bahay Ni Tuding (House of Tuding) is conveniently located in a deceivingly small driveway between Lachmi Mall and Mercury Drug at San Pedro Street, 40-minute drive from Davao International Airport. It is just steps away from the city's famous landmarks such as the old city hall, San Pedro Cathedral, Legislative buildings, urban parks, Malls and etc.

What caught my attention upon my arrival was the inn's interior design. It is fascinatingly beautiful. Its modern style mixed with some unique artifacts creates a peaceful and tranquil aura one would surely commend and appreciate. Antique telephones are being displayed at some corners to add a homey feeling for every guests. feels like home my friend ^_^

After a glass of cold juice and a small chat with the owner, a friendly and accommodating staff graciously takes us to the 3rd floor where the suites are located. Bahay ni Tuding provides homey accommodation with free Wi-Fi access. There are a total of 12 cozy air-conditioned rooms which comes with comfortable beddings and wood flooring. Each room was equipped with cable TV, a telephone and an en suite bathroom. Toiletries are provided for guest's comfort.

After our fun filled trivia and press releases, we proceeded to our next event, to eat our dinner. The resto was filled with excitement! eating time. :) Bahay ni Tuding's chef Ms. Nice takes pride as she showcase their must try courses. Ms nice served us 5 different courses, each of which comes with its unique and distinct taste.

Garden Salad

Our first course was a salad that consists of 4 kinds of lettuce, homemade strawberry vinaigrette dressing, a slice of boiled egg and to add a twist, a couple slices of dried sardines locally known as Tinapa. The taste is a hands down if you want an honest comment from a picky eater like me. *wink*

Tuding's Specialty Humba

Our next course was their special Humba (Pork adobo). It was sinfully tempting and mouth-watering. The taste was superb. Not your typical humba taste from eateries nearby. A must try dish if you stay or visit this place.

Buko Sorbet

Fried chicken w/ Aligi Rice

Delightful Banana Churon

3rd course is a pallet of "Buko Sorbet" manually hand whipped for a couple of days just to achieve a natural buko ice cream taste without any preservatives added. Fourth dish was fried chicken with aligi? rice. It is my first time to eat this so called Aligi rice. Chef nice explains that Aligi comes from a crab fat that is seared into the rice. I don't like crabs but this Aligi rice is a thumbs up for me. Really a must try. And to complete our five-course meal, staffs served us Banana Churon. two pieces of luscious turon with real cacao tsokolate. The tsokolate adds a delightful taste to the turon. My tummy is very happy. yay!
